Another book another trial.

I still enjoy the story even though at times I feel the author doesn’t explain everything well.

I like Lera, but for a while there I was taking issue with the way Coal and River were treating her. I understood Coals reasons after it was explained but even being in Rivers mind I couldn’t figure out what his deal was. Why he wouldn’t tell Lera. The coupling scene was Coal and Lera was rough. And I mean that literally. I personally don’t think I’d have reacted similarly to ...more

I like strong heroines but one who puts her life in danger repeatedly is not strong or courageous. That makes her stupid and stubborn. Lacking common sense. it's like she has to prove a point that she's brave and strong... Sometimes I wonder if Lera forgets she's just human.

Coal is falling into being just a dark abusive character. Yes, I sympathize that he went through hell but breaking bones when having rough sex?

Perfection

Just when you think it can possibly get any better then it does. I loved the happy note this book ended on. The last few pages had my laughing out loud garnering some weird looks. Now I am off to dive into book 4!
