Holy cow. Not sure how I felt about this book really. Four stars because the author captured the essence of a curious five year old mind so well. I thought more was going to happen, but glad it didn't. Not a light read.

Very creative idea, but did not like following the logic/distraction of a 5 year old through the story. Less depressing than I thought it would be, but very tense/stressed reading it through the first sections. I don't like books that stress me out! lol... ...more
Wow, so much of this story was disturbing. I felt though I had to give it four stars on the character voice alone. There were antagonizing times when reading because Jack's vocabulary and point of view was so skewed. However, that is what made the whole thing believable and amazing.

A little hard to get into at first but then I became very intrigued with this story being told by this 5-year old boy who has lived in this Room all his life and his mom.
