I must have been about 10 or so when I read this for the first time. It was my mother's desperate attempt to steer me back into the classics and away from contemporary fiction. Later, as a surprise, we sat down to watch a late night AMC showing of Rebecca, starring Laurence Olivier. To this day, it still remains one of my favorite movies, and brought back a love of the classic novels.
