This was even better the 2nd time around! I completely loved rereading it!
Hawk is known as an amazing warrior and lover. When he attracts the ire of a vengeful fairy, Adrienne tumbles out of the 20th Century and into his life. Forced to marry her, Hawk is astounded to find how much she attracts him and how much he immediately likes her. Adrienne isn't so generous in her feelings with Hawk. She wants nothing to do with this man that she sees as beautiful and faithless. It soon becomes clear that ...more

Like the novels of Gabaldon and Deveraux, this is a time-travel romance with a modern woman. In this case an American is transported across the centuries by fairies to the Scottish Highlands in 1513. The implausibilities pile up real fast in this one. Like the heroine appears in a EVIL man's lap and he forces her to impersonate his dead daughter to fulfill a marriage contract with the hero. Why if this was such a dilemma, didn't Mr Evil pick one of the maids he bullies and beats? Dunno. This boo

Liked it. Cuz I'm a sucker for jealousy and possessiveness, and that's like at least half the book :D
I would've liked it more if we got to know more about their past, but it ain't that important. And the fairy addition was nice~
And the lingo wasn't that bad, cuz usually I have to search some word every few lines, but here I actually read it without needing to translate it into the language I use most of the time (miracle I tell ya!), though it's not easy to understand that Scottish accent or w/e ...more

I really liked this story and I have high expectations for the rest of the series.
Adrienne was probably my least favourite thing about the story. But Hawk made up for the lacking heroine.
I have a problem with heroines who think they're all that and are desired by all. Adrienne was a little like this for me. (view spoiler)

Think "The Taming of the Shrew" and The Outlander series put in a blender, with a sprinkle of Mills and Boon, and you pretty much have this book, (though it isn't as good as the first two).
Why did I finish it? I actually ordered it from Amazon because it isn't available in NZ, so it had clocked up a few carbon debits on its way to me, and deserved to be read. I was catching up with one of my book groups who read this earlier, and it belongs to another of the genres I don't frequent. Now I remem ...more

So I just finished this book and am not sure what to say. I enjoyed it but think I would have loved it 15+ years ago when I was still young enough to believe in fairy tales ;). Fun romance with steamy love scenes. I liked the characters and the fantasy element. I did find out it is a series and when ever I think I am getting to cynical about love I am going to go get one of these books to read.

Can't wait to read the rest of this series! Loved this book. I still can not believe I am really reading this genre of book but I have to say I am a bit obsessed with the whole paranormal romance world!!

This was a pretty good book. The fairy/supernatural aspect was interesting, but I guess I'm spoiled by the Outlander series when it comes to Celtic romance.
