I'm not going to do an extensive review on this one, because my mind is very much blown.
This book is INSANE. I'm a very careful reader, I remember all the details and try to fit them together. Mr Adams here has just overloaded my circuit. I can't even make sense of it any more.

Amazingly, I had never read this one before now. I found it mildly amusing and a quick read but wasn't crazy about it; I doubt I'll seek out the 4 sequels, but I think this first book was worth reading in the name of cultural literacy alone.

Read the books - avoid the movie. You've gotta love a trilogy with five books.
