In all honesty, I really did not enjoy this book. Don't get me wrong, H.G. Wells has done wonderful things for science fiction and I really like science fiction, but I just didn't see it in this book. I found myself down-right bored at times. It was very hard for me to concentrate on the story or the characters or what was happening, but the idea was a wonderful one. I hesitated for weeks to rate this book. Maybe I didn't get it. Maybe I should read it again just in case I missed something crucial seeing as that I slept through most of it the first time. I mean it is a classic after all, I should at least appreciate it for what it is. Boring. A time or two I was almost excited at the potential for something to actually happen, to evolve (pun intended) but the plot just kept drudging on and on exasperatingly so.
