It's clear, that people love or hate this book. One star, or five.
I decided to give it four, with reservations, because it has an original premise- that a girl up in heaven doesn't necessarily have to be the most forgiving, well-adjusted, protective spirit churches tell us that people in heaven always are.

This book was sad, it didn't give me the closure I wanted, but there was something. I have a daughter so it was hard for me to read in places. I think in tragedy families do become torn, and the way the characters handled theirs was what I imagine happens to a lot of families. Different that’s for sure and not a light read, not something I would pick up if you were feeling down yourself.

I thought this book was creepy. At times it tended to drag ... and there were definitely times when I wanted to quit. Overall a good book, but not one I would read again.

This was a lot like My Sister's Keeper in that it explored the dynamics of a family when in crisis. It was very sad but well written.
