The setting of Africa makes this book very different from most of what I read. I found the book to be original and enjoyable. The name of the book led me to believe that it would be a mystery, but it is really not that at all. If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would. This was an easy, unchallenging read. The mysteries weren't very deep (I like more of the Agatha Christie/Sherlock Holmes where the answer is very hard to come by), and there didn't seem to be much of a plot to tie the whole story together (just a bunch of jobs that Ramotsway had to solve).

I might read more in the series, but currently I'm not sure. It was interesting to learn more about Botswana, but I don't think I'll run right out for the next one.

I know I'm suppose to love these books, and I did think it was a cute read, but I didn't like how it jumped around. Precious is a awesome character, it is just the formate I didn't care for. I do plan on trying his Scottish books. ...more
