What Members Thought
I read this book in one afternoon as a child. My parents were visiting a friend who had a magnificent house in Singapore, complete with secret passages, which somehow added to the atmosphere of the book. So rather than remember exactly how it went, I am left with an aura of mystery and excitement. Of course I read the series after that.
I recently re read this with my 11 year old grandson. I have always loved it and was happy that he enjoyed it too. He struggles with reading and I was intrigued that his reading was much smoother with this book than more currently written books.
