This was my second time reading this book having first read it 8 years or so ago. Having been so long since I last picked it up there were aspects of the plot I had forgotten which were delightfully surprising. I absolutely loved this one. I already knew the story by audio quite some time ago, but I finally got to actually read it and it was even better than I remembered. I previously loved Sense and Sensibility for how interesting and engaging it was. The writing just makes me want to know more and deeply care for the characters. Well, this was no different.

This has kind of the same feeling/topic as Sense and Sensibility, but the way the stories are told and how different the characters are, makes it I absolutely loved this one. I already knew the story by audio quite some time ago, but I finally got to actually read it and it was even better than I remembered. I previously loved Sense and Sensibility for how interesting and engaging it was. The writing just makes me want to know more and deeply care for the characters. Well, this was no different.

This has kind of the same feeling/topic as Sense and Sensibility, but the way the stories are told and how different the characters are, makes it feel like a totally new experience. Each set of characters is engaging in a totally different way and it's impossible not to be caught up in their story.

Elizabeth is one of the most engaging characters. She is strong, caring and never fears to speak her mind. I absolutely loved her. Such a fierce female character! Also, she and Jane are just perfect together! They are definitely sister goals. Their bond is beautiful. They are complete opposites, but they complete and understand each other so well! I just loved reading about them especially.

The family, overall, was incredibly engaging for how stressed and overreacting the mom was, how apathetic the father was to everything, and how wild some of the daughters could be. They were all incredibly different in personalities and that made it really fun and realistic.

Darcy was a really interesting character to know. At first, I really didn't like him, but he did grow on me like A LOT. He was taught to be like he was at first, but I loved that he managed to see that life can be more than that. He is kind of a hard person, but he has the softest of hearts. There's also a lot of drama involved and I just loved to see everything unfold!

This was a really beautiful and engaging story, one that never gets old. It's amazingly written, and you are completely absorbed by the writing and all the complexity of family matters and marriage. I would say everyone knows this story, but if you haven't read it yet, I would definitely recommend it! ...more

I adore this book. 5 stars all the way.

Read for the challenge of:
"Read a book from a summer reading list."

[4.5 Stars] I thought I'd hate this book, to be frank. But it quite surprised me. It was very entertaining and such a delight to read.
I love how unsympathetic to human attitude it was, and how all the characters were flawed in one way or another. It just made me sit and have this analyzing session with myself, which led to the most interesting discussion.
