Stefan is an American ex-soldier trying to find a place where he can fit in. Being a rentboy is not something he set out to do, but it pays well and he's good at it. Handsome, cocky and sexy as hell, he is determined to hook up with Frank and doesn't understand why the older man is trying to keep him at bay. Never one to let the opportunity run by him, he devices a plan to get the sexy, older man alone and have him at his mercy. Little does he know that he and Frank share so much more than an intense attraction.

Phew! Now, I went into this story all geared up to get my mind blown to bits by the usual hard core sensual scenes Team VoinWitt has made successful in previous installments. What I was NOT expecting was to be blind-sided with an array of emotions so overwhelming I ended up crying as if this were a tear-jerker instead of an erotic story. Don't get me wrong, Team VoinWitt brought their expected degree of nuclear-hot scenes. But this time around it went hand in hand with some much appreciated emotions.

Not usually a fan of the insta-love scenario, Team VoinWitt quickly made me a believer. By making Stefan and Frank's connection something deeper than mere attraction, the authors brought a more believable story to the page. One that had me emotionally invested in Frank and Stefan's well-being and cheering them on to make this thing something more.

Both Stefan and Frank were interesting characters to get to know. I loved Frank's sense of propriety, his protectiveness towards his rentboys and his vulnerability. He so desired to be touched and loved, but denied himself thinking that his chance for something meaningful had passed along with his partner. I adored him!

Stefan, on the other hand, won me over with his cockiness and fierce determination to have who he wanted. He was young, but matured beyond his years and it showed in the way he never backed down with Frank. Sexy, tender, funny and assertive - he was everything Frank needed.

Once again, Team VoinWitt outdid themselves with their writing. Their formula is one that has proven to work I always end up wanting more. Well done, Team VoinWitt. Well done, indeed. You managed to draw me in once again, rendering me totally useless for a couple of hours while I was paintballing with the guys, sitting to dinner with friends and enjoying the hell out of Frank's office. *shiver*

Although Capture & Surrender is the fifth book in the Market Garden series, it can be read as a stand alone. But truly, who would pass up the chance to read the other installments? I sure din't. I even think a re-read is overdue.

The BDSM element is pretty light in this - a bit of capture/prisoner kink. This is mainly the story of Frank, a middle-aged guy who lost his partner and has resigned himself to being a spectator in the games of sex and love around him. He runs The Market Garden, which provides a home base, and hopefully a bit of a safety net, for gay rent-boys.

In Capture & Surrender, we meet Frank, the owner of Market Garden. Up to this point Frank has been in the background, but this book gives him his time in the sunshine. In the previous volume, Frank’s BDSM “specialist” found his HEA and has left the Market Garden. This leaves a hole in Frank’s ability to provide a full range of services to his clients. The hole is as big as the one in his heart that has been there since his partner died eighteen months ago.

Raoul, Frank’s long time bartender at the Market Garden knows the perfect replacement. Stefan seems like he will definitely be able to meet the needs of the Market Garden’s clients when he walks in the door like a wet dream. Stefan is former US Military, he is big and hot and dominate. He also immediately sets his sights on Frank. Unfortunately for Stefan, Frank has a strict policy about not getting involved with the rent boys.

As Frank first thought, Stefan does well at the Market Garden. The clients love him and his camouflage wearing, bossy attitude and “services.” Frank is feeling strange about the situation though. He’s not sure what the feeling is that he has every time he sees Stefan go out the door with a client.

A couple of times a month, Frank and a group of friends have a paintball tournament which always ends with sex in one form or another. Either a player is captured and has sex with his captor, or there is a group getting together or partners are watching one another get off with another man. All the participants are gay. Since Frank’s partner dies, he hasn’t participated in the game or the post game sex, he has only served as an referee for the games.

Frank asks Stefan to accompany him to the game, explaining clearly the rules of the game and Frank’s personal no contact rule with the rent boys. Stefan immediately proves that he has no regard for the rules of the game or Frank’s personal life. He sets out to win Frank in both arenas.

As Frank & Stefan get to know each other, it becomes obvious that they have a huge important commonality. It is also clear that they have a lot of obstacles between getting to know each other and getting to love each other. Stefan is determined to get through those obstacles to get to Frank.

The Market Garden series has always been unbelievably hot. The sex is off the charts and leaves the readers fanning themselves. Capture & Surrender was no different on that front. What struck me as very different was the emotional aspect of the story that developed with these two men. There is a depth of feeling and sharing that we haven’t seen before from this series. The combination of the physical and emotional that Witt & Voinov created is perfect. They balanced the pain Stefan and Frank had to overcome and the trust required to do so with the super hot sex scenes we expect and love from them.

The journey Frank & Stefan take is rocky and strewn with landmines, but it is one I was grateful to be able to take with them. Raoul’s intentions in bringing Stefan into the business in the first place are eventually revealed and realized. That crafty bastard needs his own story, and soon!

I was so pleased to see a depth of emotion in Capture & Surrender. It was unexpected, but very gratefully received. It gave Frank’s story a gravitas that he deserved as the owner of the club, not just one of the boys. All this while continuing to keep the heat at an almost constant boil. Witt & Voinov are an amazing team. Although I have a feeling I am not alone when I say, PLEASE can we have more Tristan and Jared? Please? Knowing the sadistic nature of these two exquisitely talented authors, they will make us wait until the final book in the series for our Tristan and Jared fix. I don’t know how many books are planned. I am torn between wanting to get to the last one for T & J and waiting years because the intervening books are so damn good. This one blind-sided me. I did not expect this to be such a heart-wrenching and heart-warming story. Can I just say how much I loved how sane and reasonable both main characters were? Made me fall hard for this book. :) Capture and surrender indeed!

This was an incredibly sexy story. The paintball games were great (oh, to be a ref on that field), but I was pleasantly surprised where this story headed once Stefan had captured Frank's attention, which was relatively early on. I didn't expect the turn of events at all.

Darn! Was a 5 until the last few pages, then it felt rushed! But definitely an enjoyable and educational part of the series...

If you enjoy paintball, this gives an interesting twist to the game (grins).

This book was one of e longer length books in this series and I really enjoyed that it was more in depth as far as bringing me up to date with a backstory on each MC. I think this is one of the few instances didn't bother me as much as usual, because it wasn't 'daddy-kink', and Stefan/Brandon was ...more
