I'm a big fan of fantasy and I've been looking for a good story in the m/m genre. I finally found it! Counterpoint is the first book in the Song of the Fallen series. This is an epic, world-building fantasy of Elves and Humans, two races who've hated each for centuries.
Although I loved the descriptive world and characters, it did take me some time to get used to the lyrical narrative style. After a few chapters it was smooth sailing.

This book was a very interesting one. I was so captured it was difficult to put it down. I enjoyed greatly the fact that even if it's a captor/captive story the captor wasn't a mindless brute and the captive was a strong willed elf. Ayden is a great character, strong, brave and smart, I definitely loved him.

Betrayed
I had to wait a day to write this review, otherwise I would have written something I would regret later on.
Counterpoint is a good fantasy read, no doubt about it. The first third of the book is captivating. The main characters are interesting, even though the other one is an elf, and you meet a fair amount of intriguing side characters as well. Somehow, the middle part felt slow.
