ഈ നോവലിന്റെ കൂടെ ഒരു പ്രതികരണ പതിപ്പ് വായിക്കാൻ ഇടയായി അതിലെ എഴുത്ത് ഇങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു ......."ഇത്ര മാത്രം ദയനീയതകൾ വരച്ചു കാണിക്കാൻ അതിലേറെ ഹാസ്യ ചിന്താഗതിയുള്ള ബഷീറിനെ പ്രേരിപിച്ചതെന്താകും" ....ബഷീര് ചിരിപ്പിച്ചും കരയിപ്പിച്ചും ചിന്തിപ്പിച്ചും ഈ ലോകത്തോട് വിടപറഞ്ഞു .....വായിച്ചു കയിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ജീവിതത്തോട് തന്നെ ഒരു മടുപ്പ് തോന്നി .........കൂടെ കണ്ണ് നീരും ....

Like M Paul said, its hard to categorize this book. Is it a long short story or a short novel? I prefer the latter categorization. I felt it so because when we read this book, we feel a sense of completion which i think is the staple of a novel. Rather than being offered a window into someone's life, we feel as if we have journeyed with someone from start to end. A must read for any malayalam literature lover.
