This book was amazing, it was well written, thought provoking and heartbreaking. It was almost all of what I expected it to be.
Why almost? I felt that Maggie has written an amazing series, but the last book (Forever) has been lacking just a little bit. I've given four stars and not five for that reason. How was it lacking? Well, I wanted to see more of Grace and Sam having an actual relationship instead of being semi-awkward around each other while still trying to rekindle their ...more

This happens to be one of the few books were I actually enjoyed the last book of the series, so congrats to Maggie Stiefvater!
Grace: Is constantly changing back and forth from human to wolf. She can't go home, she can't tell her friends she's still alive, and she can't tell anyone the truth as to why.
Sam: Is accused of murdering/kidnapping Geoffrey Beck, Grace Brisbane, and Olivia Marx, but telling the truth will label him as a liar. In reality, he knows Beck is never coming back, he misses Gra ...more

I think this is my favourite in this trilogy, because it all comes together. Stiefvater writes beautiful prose, and I love seeing the story from the different perspectives. I particularly liked Cole and Isabel this time around: their characters have really developed and evolved from the beginning I think.
The ending caught me out, though, because it's both a cliffhanger and isn't. I like that we're told what the characters are going to do next, but their future is really left open for us to inte ...more

You know, I kept putting off this, fearing to read it. Why? Because I really didn't want it to end.
Once again, Maggie Stiefvater managed to evoke a thousand emotions in me - happiness, love, sadness among others. I knew that Forever doesn't end perfectly since it came out last summer, I knew there wouldn't be absolute happy ending and closure of things, and at first I was a bit angry about that. But after reading it, it doesn't matter, because Maggie ended it so beautifully, no matter how painfu ...more

Four things:
1. very beautifully written, but kinda confusing prose at some points
2. Generally good ending to the series: most every end is tied up.
3. Characters all seemed happy but it wasn't one of those happily-ever-after scenarios.
4. My only problem is certain little details- she only killed off one wolf that we cared about, and the other one that we thought was dead, suddenly wasn't! I mean, if she was going to kill this person, kill them for real. Have the balls to just cut them out. Other ...more

A beautiful end to a beautiful trilogy.
I’m very sad that the Wolves of Mercy Falls story is over and done. Shiver has remained one of my most favorite YA books. It’s Maggie’s writing that makes you ache with mood and sadness. I think I was so anxious to rush through Forever that I missed a lot of the moments. I’ll need to go back and re-read to fully appreciate it. However, at the end of the book , I was very satisfied. It felt very bittersweet, but all very necessary. No shock value or ridiculo ...more

It took me ages to read this book. Occasionally I found myself avoiding it & finding other things to occupy my time with. Out of the trilogy, I enjoyed Shiver the most & struggled through the last two books. The best parts were towards the end. The ending of Forever was ok. It wasn't the ending I would've loved but it was one I can live with. I loved Cole & Isabel the most out of all the characters. If I'm honest, they are what kept me reading! I'm still a fan of Maggie's writing though & probab

Eventhough I'm sad because the series have come to end, I have to admit that Maggie did an excellent job. This book is full of surprises and won't let you put it down until you finish it.
I love Sam and I think he is sweet and hasn't let the obstacles in his life stop him from being a good person. (And I warn you, if you're reading this that he's MINE.)
I highly recommend this book, and if you haven't red the other ones, do it now! ...more
