Leggere quest'opera in lingua originale è una sfida difficile da accettare. Pur avendo traduzioni eccellenti come quella di Nadia Fusini, leggere le parole di Virginia Woolf è sicuramente un'esperienza unica: ogni paragrafo è melodia, ogni frase è immagine, ogni parola colpisce l'occhio del lettore e scandisce il ritmo di una storia che è vita. Di una vita che si fa storia.

I'm addicted. And somehow I feel To the Lighthouse is concretely better than Mrs Dalloway, or maybe I just have a better feeling of how to read Woolf. It's more organized, people are more clearly separated, reality and thoughts are clearer, it just 'makes more sense'. Momentum towards the lighthouse builds and builds, but it's all movement in stasis (you know what I'm going to say): bodies are barely moving — people are just walking slowly on the beach, painting methodically, and moving dramatic

4,5 stars really <3 . Even thought it's really hard (for me at least) to read/get into texts that are "stream of consciousness" I adored this one. (SOC is when the author is objective, but still writes down exactly what each character thinks in the moment.)

Woolf's novels always touch the remotest nuances of the truth about people and the world. I found it hard to keep up with this book because I happen to be in a state of mind like the turbulent sea in the book. I was unable to enjoy the ride. But the writing was profound and I am, as always, wiser after reading Virginia Woolf.
