Thoroughly enjoyed this, though it wasn't quite what I was expecting going into it. The book description is a little misleading, since you don't get to the events described in it until the last 100 pages of the book. Nevertheless, I like the author's writing style and didn't mind the conversational tone he used for the narrator of the story. I never found it boring, despite the numerous tangents and side stories.

Vale no es un 5-star, pero es divertido. No puedo decir mucho para no spoilear, pero quizás mi nota no es más alta debido a cuestiones subjetivas. Por un lado, una trama de viajes temporales ya tiene mucho ganado para mí, pero por otro lado, las constantes divagaciones en las que se recrea el autor no hacían más que sacarme del libro, e impedían que fuera uno de esos "que no puedes soltar". Pero, como digo, seguramente es algo que me pasa solo a mí.

Whew! This story was the longest I've read recently. There are a lot of factual and fictional characters in this book to keep track of. The book is divided into 3 parts and I must admit during the reading of the first 2 parts I thought about quitting a number of times. The storyline just seemed too tedious. But, I persisted and was rewarded by part 3 which was the best of all.

This book actually is three individual stories in one that all come together in the end. I personally liked part two of three the best even though there is no actual time travel involved. The author mixes fictional characters with fictional representations of actual people, most notably H.G. Wells, author of "The Time Machine." At first, I wasn't sure I liked that. But when I realized that this book was written as a tribute to Wells, I set my feelings aside and approached it with an open mind. I
