I was pleasantly surprised by this new author...her pace is good, her character development was good and the story itself was good. I learned to like Raphael and really like Cyn. The way it ended is driving me nuts so glad I have the next book in the series cause I got to know what happens to them. Highly recommend.

Good first effort by a newly published writer.... a cross between romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Just a few niggles (view spoiler) but overall a promising start to a new vampire series.

This one is about Lord Raphael (vamp) and Cynthia (P.I. & human). She's hired to find someone for him that has been kidnapped. It turns out to be a power play from another vampire trying to take Raphael's territory and power. Raphael is old and set in his ways, which causes problems between him and Cynthia. Plenty of action, mystery, humor, and some sex.

Cynthia reminds me a little of Anita Blake. Tough, respectful yet not afraid of vampires, has plenty of weapons, and has attracted the attention ...more

Really good story, likeable characters but it left a lot of the mythology and futures of the characters in the dark.

I missed not having a HEA but instead a great big "to be continued..." ...more
