3 1/2 stars -Victorian vampires, of a sort. Good start and has great potential for future books with the different characters. It was light on the Steampunk, with only mechanical body parts and soldiers but with only one side character.

The story, got my attention from the beginning but not my interest until later on. I was waiting to understand what each faction of blood drinkers were and why, why were blue bloods not vampires, why were rogues, rogues, what made the vampires. My only complaint ...more

Not bad, but I started it for a group read that no one else read with me so I lost interest. I was confused by the teminoligy and plot anyway. It was a library book I just let go back.

I like reading about early fashion and the way the environment flt. The characters were delightful and intriguing. I liked Honoria but sometimes I think her prejudice hamper her open minded ness or learning how to be that way. I think she relies on her excuses to lead her life of what is supposed to be. I think blade is open and forward. He is what Honoria needs in a spouse or lover. This is very well written and kept my interest.
