This one was pretty good. I don’t know what I was expecting (sometimes I judge a book by its cover, and this cover does nothing for me), but I liked this more than I anticipated. I’m interested enough to get the next in the series (so hope the library will have it). Give it a try; you’ll be pleasantly surprised I’m thinking.

Talk about unexpected surprise! Though it took me a little bit to really get into it, this ended up being a really fun read. It was fairly fast-paced, with plenty of action, an engaging plot, and amusing and likable characters.

Our MC Tori was thrust into a world of magic and mages and for a mere human, she took it really well. I loved how feisty and funny she was, and how she didn't back down even when she was clearly in over her head. The other three main characters, Aaron, Kai and Ezra (the " ...more
