I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After only two pages, I was disgusted by the main character and couldn't bring myself to read another word. I nearly stopped after only a few sentences into the first page when Jill tells one of the police officers on site to suck her dick. The phone call on the second page pushed me over the edge. Jill Rogers, a detective, is called out to several murder scenes in the middle of an ice storm. As she tries to figure it out, she stays with a former lover, Sophie, who she still wants to be with but Sophie is with Alistair.

Life's too short for books I don't like.

First person POV from an annoying character is never my cup of tea. The dialogue overall grated on me to a degree that I didn't make it past chapter seven. I wouldn't necessarily call it bad, it just wasn't my thing at all.

I also wasn't a fan of the noir vibe. I wasn't aware of this author before, had I been, I most likely would have skipped this, as her other books have the noir right in the title.
