I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
After only two pages, I was disgusted by the main character and couldn't bring myself to read another word. Jill Rogers, a detective, is called out to several murder scenes in the middle of an ice storm. As she tries to figure it out, she stays with a former lover, Sophie, who she still wants to be with but Sophie is with Alistair.

Life's too short for books I don't like.
First person POV from an annoying character is never my cup of tea. The dialogue overall grated on me to a degree that I didn't make it past chapter seven. I wouldn't necessarily call it bad, it just wasn't my thing at all.
I also wasn't a fan of the noir vibe. I wasn't aware of this author before, had I been, I most likely would have skipped this, as her other books have the noir right in the title.
