I don't quite know about this book. I've been at it from November, because it's a long read, it's "heavy" reading and I suppose I've been holding it off a bit too. But now I finished, and I must say that I really liked this book. Yes, it is way too long. Yes, there are parts of this book that are boring, dull and really makes you want to throw the whole thing out of the window. 49 hours of audiobook. 49. 49. 49.
I'm not sure if the ending felt weaksauce because I was listening to it in "dribs and drabs" (a phrase used about 11 times too many in this book) or if because the start of the book is so sprawling yet minutely focused that nothing could live up to it. Especially as large swaths of story post-Heminingford Home, happened between the lines or off page in a way that made some of the resultant conversations seemed incredibly unimportant.
Also Nick Andros is the best. ...more

It's really a shame the last half of this book went down the drain. The first half felt really good...but when the dreams stuff happened, it just felt like generic Stephen King again.
