I was warned that people either love or hate this, but I'm afraid I fall in the middle. It just didn't do much for me. I'm honestly not really sure what the point of it was? The characters were forgettable, the story has been done before (and better), and it was not, in particular, a page-turner/thriller.
I hate wild coincidences. That many people survived who all happened to have a mutual acquaintance is beyond belief.

Post apocalyptic fiction that is somehow uplifting and hopeful. It surely hits different after the COVID pandemic. I felt such affinity to the characters going through such a strange moment in history. The characters and relationships in the future are so genuine and beautiful. I just loved this story and these characters and these places.
