First thought when this book was recommended to me to read was Ugh....young adult. I tried to keep an open mind while reading this book and I can say that there were parts that I did enjoy. If only I didn't have this prejudice against young adult, I probably would have been able to rate it higher than 3 stars. But 3 stars it is because I can't see myself recommending it. I thought this fell flat for him. It had an interesting concept and scratched the surface of disrupting ideals of gender but did not go deep enough for me. It felt rush and not fully conceptualized.
