This book is about a single dad, Miles Ryan, who lost his wife in a accident about three years ago. He is a deputy for the town he lives in and is trying to figure out killed his wife in the hit and run accident. Miles' son's teacher, Sarah Andrews, meets Miles and starts to fall in love with him. The get very close but Miles is still having a hard time getting over his wife that died. Miles figures out that Sarah's brother actually was the one that killed Miles' wife.
