This story takes place in a dystopian future here on earth. The "real world" is so miserable to some, that they escape into a virtual world that has been created, called the OASIS. When the creator of this virtual world dies, he leaves behind all of his fortune to whomever can find the "Easter Egg" he has hidden somewhere inside the OASIS. It's been a while since I enjoyed a book as much as I loved this one. A friend recommended it to me because I'm a nerd who loves old movies, retro and contemporary gaming, and a good comic book. If any of your interests fall into those categories chances are that Ready Player One will be right up your alley.
