2017 11 13 This may seem to speak against it, but I truly didn't remember having listened to this version before, with Gaiman reading. Lovely, whimsical, and deep, and though Gaiman says in an interview at the end that he's more careful with each word in his kids books because kids will reread, his are enough my favorites that I've lost count of the number of times I've read Stardust and
Neverwhere
, but then, I wouldn't take issue with his word choice either.

this was a quick, fun read, though i confess i prefer to film to a degree, due to side characters and the world being further fleshed out; i wish this had been longer! (though it works well as a short story of sorts.)
