I liked this book alright. The ideas were interesting, but I didn't connect with any of the characters and found myself FORCING myself to read up until the last 1/4 of the book, at which point I tore through at break neck speed.

So, initial reaction was a grand shiver. I had a hard time getting into this dystopian world initially because of the combination of Thai and "future" vocabulary, but once I got the beat down, so to speak, I loved the way the language flowed.

I really enjoyed this book - a kind of neo-environmentalism / steampunk-ish look at the near future in Thailand after the seas rise and the world's food supply crashes due to diseases and plagues. It's much more "literature" than "sc-fi/fantasy" so don't expect a lot of action or zombies or anything.
