Good SF novel worth checking out. Like many of her novels, this is probably not considered 'hard SF' in that it is more politically and socially oriented and focused, i.e., there is more character development and focus on the socio-economic, psychological, and political environment that the characters are a part of, rather than being focused so exclusively on the science and technology, etc.

What would happen if a bunch of people on Earth of some particular belief systems and political persuation
