What Members Thought

There's not much to be said about this one that hasn't already been said. I thought this was a fascinating blend of dystopia and utopia, and I liked the way that it didn't simplify anything. Even the utopian society had its problems and issues, whereas the so-called dystopian society was acknowledged to have its strengths. So at last, my four month reading hiatus is over. I started reading The Dispossessed in the evenings before bed (as spending my time in front of the computer was not wise) and slowly but surely plodded my way to the end of another one of Le Guin's satisfyingly complex conclusions. As with The Left Hand of Darkness, I had no idea where the journey was taking me until I was already beyond it, blinking with something like wonder.
