Michael J Sullivan can create a genre of his own; it will probably be titled For Entertainment Purposes Only. Now, this book here is purely for adrenaline rushes. It's a 'story' in the truest and the most traditional of its senses: a simple plot and a few chosen characters dwelling within. It's something I would tell my child while tugging him into bed.

We know the novel focuses on two thieves. We know they're called Hadrian Blackwater and Royce Melborn. And that's all we k

Argh, I can't believe it's finished. I thought there was still some more pages to go, but with the glossary and that I finished before I expected it to. And it was left right where you just want to read more... so I'm guessing this means that I know what I'm going to be reading next! ...more

Amazing fun series. I am a huge fan of the main protagonists - Hadrian and Royce. They are thieves yet so nice. And who is the heir of Novron? I am so desperate to know. I have made some guesses and now I need to read the other parts to know if my guess is right. The book ended with a cliffhanger.
This book reminded me of Lord of the rings a lot without feeling like a rip off. Human, Elf and Dwarf companionship reminded me of LOTR so much. There are plenty of twists in the story and all the chara

Royce the thief and Hadrian the swordsman are known as Ririya -- for the right price, and given enough time, they can steal pretty much anything.

They are also the last people you would expect to be suddenly in the middle of a massive political and religious war, but that is what happens in "Theft of Swords," the first of Michael J. Sullivan's Riyria Revelations omnibi, which compiles the first two books of his epic fantasy series. Rather than overstuffed mythology or dark-and-gritty realism, Sul

My first comment on this book is that two shorter books (approx 300 pages) is not the same as a 600 - 700 page book. While both books were good and there is good continuation between the two books, i was disappointed that the first book 'ended'.

That said, i enjoyed this book, especially book two. there was a good deal of mystery. the element of magic is present, but not overbearing. the corrupt society and elements of society have a nice counterbalance by the heroes and just positive people. ch
