I read this when I was 9 and was bored with it. Picked it back up at 12 and fell in love with it. I think you either hate it or love it. Haven't read it since then but I may just pick it up again for kicks and still see if I feel as good about it as I did then.

I love animal books and this one is particularly moving - the life of a rabbit is hard! I never thought much about rabbits making any noises at all until this book, let alone whether they scream, but since reading it, I actually have heard a rabbit scream (and knew what it was because of the author's vivid description).

I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Brian Jacques' Redwall series.
