Way too boring and slow paced. Scenes are way too descriptive for my liking and writing style was too conversational. DNF for now. Will try again later.

Yikes. It’s just not good.

Starts off with an exciting concept but the characters feel inauthentic and largely one dimensional. I rolled my eyes a lot while reading this. Plot was lacking, I found pacing to be an issue.

To me everything feels so heavy handed. I’m just surprised this was so well received. It doesn’t live up to the premise.

I'll limit the comments because the book was so inspiring and magnificent. Just one thing to consider - I understand the need to go to space if you know that because of the climate factors, Earth will be inhabitable in a few decades. Great book. Not only author described social issues adequate for the era, but also issues with mental illness and stigma. To top it off, she wasn’t far off in describing human stupidity in face of global catastrophe.
I liked every sentence of this work. It really made me think.

Great alternate history series about humankind's race to space, filled with strong, smart, brave women. Very pleasant and easy to read. Enjoyed all three and look forward to picking up the fourth when it comes out. ...more
