Shelves: fantasy, 2fiction, sword-sorcery, 3series, 1paper

Better than the first book. We continue to follow Tavi into more trouble with a new menace. Butcher expands the world nicely & definitely opens it up for future books, but still has a nicely contained story. It's a lot of fun & a pretty quick read for all its size.

WARNING - Do NOT read the blurbs on the backs of the books from now on or you will know the story. The book blurbs are a bit more in-depth & Butcher's take on this world is more predictable, so they're a spoiler. ...more

Between books this week and wanted some good entertainment so zoomed through this book and its next two sequels. Definitely the high water mark of this series were the first 4 books. There is something very likeable about the character and what he accomplishes using his wits and guile against others who have magic
