Ended too soon
I found this to be a very solid fairy tale that was easy to read and had some depth to it. I must confess though....it seemed Agnieszka was a bit too much of a Mary Sue. She was awfully accepting of the fact that she was a witch/wizard and could all of a sudden do all of these spells. Sure there was about 10 pages (approximately) of a "learning curve"...but then, suddenly, she could do EVERYTHING.

This is a fun take on beauty and the beast with a touch of Potter. There is some really interesting witch of the woods, Eastern European folklore at work here. The story was enjoyable and the mystery at the beginning is a real strong hook. As with many stories, it's not perfect, and I would've loved more character development on some like Kasia and the prince. They're very one-demensional folks. The magic is weird and the ending isn't as much of a payoff as an explanation, but I enjoyed it nonet
