What Members Thought
Neil Gaiman’s stories are always interesting. His concepts are unique and intriguing and well done. His writing style is easy to read and immersive.
However, as always with his books, I struggled to connect to the characters. There was one character I got emotional about, and she was secondary and not a huge part of it. Probably one of the most boring main characters I have ever tried to read about. I eventually gave up, even after meeting more interesting characters like his brother and aunts (grandmothers?). Sure, a main character needs to have flaws, but there also has to be something interesting about him to keep us reading. Otherwise he's just a mundane, normal person, not story material. I love other Gaiman books, but this one was not for me.
