I quick and light read, well written, but it didn't have the elements that made me really enjoy American Gods.

The story on it's own was fun, but the story telling was marvelous. Some people just know how to tell a tale and Neil Gaiman is one of them. I wasn't super taken in by any of the characters and the magical element was cool but nothing extraordinary.
