Shamefully, I have not read the original novel of this story yet, so I cannot compare the adaptation of the tale to that of the original. This adaptation is done by Nigel Williams.
The script writing reads okay, but something that bothered me, which a lot of plays written in the 80s and 90s seemed to do, was to have actors say short lines like "what" a lot, or repeat what another character just said, just to keep the dialogue moving, and presumably to give the ensemble actors something to say.
