I know what you are thinking, trust me I do. About darn freaking time you read this. Right? Right?
I absolutely love getting book recommendations from my fellow bloggers because they almost always end up being 4 or 5 star reviews for me and I am happy to report that Cinder fit right in with those 4 or 5 star reads.
I devoured this. I consumed it in one sitting and just couldn't get enough of it. In fact, I went online and read all of the prequels that were posted on Wattpad because of my love for ...more

Rating is staying the same. Though I'm done fangirling now. There are definite faults that I didn't see before, but it's still going to keep it's five star rating. I think what stuck out to me this time around was how superficial the Kai Cinder relationship felt in this installment and I ship them a lot. A brief recap about the reread in my post about the Lunar Chronicles to come closer to Winter's release.

Re-tellings. I don't usually like them. Why? Because as I've experienced with different books (also movies) sometimes authors want to make sure their story really follows the original, and they end up messing it up; making it feel too forceful, losing that natural flow and sometimes making them plain ridiculous. That is part of the reason why I didn't want to read Cinder. I remember when it just came out and it was on Netgalley, I just thought 'NO, I'm not reading that, I mean, Cyborg Cinderella

You know that feeling when you see a book’s cover art and find it sooo appealing that you just had to know what it’s about? Or sometimes, you just grab it off a bookstore’s shelf and buy it without knowing what it’s about? Well I didn’t feel that way with Cinder. I wasn’t completely sold on the cover; I’m not saying it’s awful, I just don’t find it extremely striking or attention grabbing. Then I read the title, and I tell myself, “Cinder? Hmmm… Looks like a retelling of Cinderella… with some so

This book was much better than I originally believed! Not much of a retellings of Cinderella, but I enjoyed the story.
Cinder is a mechanic. Of course not your average one. Because she s a cyborg. Half robot Half human. After her father died shortly after adopting her, her life only got worse. Stuck with a wicked step-mother and a bitchy step sister, and a sweeter step sister, she becomes the most famous mechanic in new Beijing, not everyone knows she's a cyborg though. While technically I read this as part of the Chez Apocalypse book club, I can also 'blame' my purchase of it on Emi of Oktopus Ink for her review of the third book, Cress. But that's more than enough name-drops and links for one intro, what about the book itself? Well, with a cover like that, you can bet seeing this on shelves definitely piqued my interest. Add in the mash-up element of Cyborgs and Cinderella, and I was more than ready to be whisked away into a weird and wonderful SciFi Fairytal

Story started out really good! Cinder is a cyborg (part human and part machine) she is one of the few that are "immune" to this disease that is beginning to spread like wildfire through the Commonwealth.(view spoiler)

First, I would like to thanks Goodreads for giving me an advanced copy of Cinder! This in no way influenced my opinion of the book.
I really enjoyed it! It was an interesting experience to read from the point of view of a cyborg. When she got to angry or excited her "brain" would tell her to cool down or take deep breaths and I thought that was a cool aspect of the story. There wasn't as much romance as I thought there would be, but the plot was so good it didn't really matter. The plot was not a ...more

Loved this book so much. Great spin on a classic that leaves you wanting more page after page. I can't wait for the next in the series!
