What Members Thought

This was such a fabulous book! I think I'd have loved it even if I wasn't addicted to gay cowboys but I am so that just made it even better. There wasn't anything missing - drama, angst, anger, sadness, and love, love, love, not to mention the hot sex between two hot men. Riley and Jack are both such unique, individualistic characters that seemingly have nothing in common except a strong hatred for each other's families and what they stand for, but when the sparks fly between them, it's obvious

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I had never read anything by this author before. I was on our M/M celebration chat on Friday, 2/4 and around 11:00pm eastern time Nikyta started talking about this book that was coming out on the 5th. I asked her what book she was talking with other members about and she told me. I read the blurb and immediately knew this was my kind of book! I waited until 12am so I could download it. I read until 3am and finished it last night.

What can I say about this book? It was just fricken great! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. When Jack and Riley got into the same room together they were hot hot hot even when they didn't like each other. This book had everything in it and I mean everything. It had me on the edge of my seat and had my stomach all twisted. I know a book is great when I can't stop thinking about it and when I get mad because real life gets in the way and I can't finish reading it, lol I had to make my

Ms Scott...I know I keep repeating myself but I really love your work. Every book has the requisite heart and soul to the characters with just enough sex to titillate and enrich the story. The Heart of Texas was wonderful. I loved how Riley and Jake started out even though it was for all the wrong reasons. It made their eventual love that much sweeter and richer. I also really enjoyed all the secondary characters and their stories, especially Beth's!

While The Heart of Texas hasn't replaced Oracle as my favorite RJ read. I waiting for her to top the originality and plot development in that one (it also happens to be in one of my favored genres)However, I loved The Heart of Texas. It was a beautiful passionate love story between two believable, likable men. the multi-layered plot is well thought out and nicely handled. She never gets bogged down, or twisted up. The story flows smoothly and even with so many characters to keep track of it's ne

Oooooh goodie! I love overly dramatic, soap opera"ish" stories. Dallas, Dynasty... You name it. This one blends them all and delivers an awesome reading experience. If you are looking for a realistic contemporary, look elsewhere. However, if you can suspend disbelief and just go along for the ride (and R.J. makes it easy), then run to read this book. Jack, Riley and their supporting cast of thousands are fantastic characters that will stay with you for a long time.
