This thrilling story held my full attention right through to the end, despite the somewhat predictable outcome. The romance between the young widow and the distinguished widower, as well as the history of their rescued horse is expected, yet the intrigue and the pace of the story is kept at full speed. It was never the ending that was in question, but how the author took us there. A well written and eloquent book, filled with colorful and evocative descriptions and characters. "Pegasus" is very well-written and one of the best-edited of ebooks I've read. The characters, the scenery descriptions, the tension all carry the story along to a satisfying end. I didn't find it an easy read, though, but that's because of my intolerance to animal abuse. I know it's real, but I don't enjoy reading about it in fiction.
