Ronnie and Anita are having coffee at Anita's and trying to not only help each other but rebuild their relationship. Ronnie is afraid to commit to Louie, a wererat, but is probably going to move in with him. Anita missed a period and is concerned she could be pregnant and if she is who could be the father? With the Ardeur she has to feed with sex or go mad and the men are drained of energy afterwards so she needs several on call each day. When Nathaniel and Micah come back from their run Anita goes to each of them and kisses them. Ronnie is angry. Nathaniel tells why - she had been coming on to him and he wouldn't give in to her. Then Ronnie tells Anita's secret that she could be pregnant. Many Masters are in town for a vampire ballet to be performed at the Fox Theater. Tonight is the meet and greet at the circus. Each Master looking for closer ties to Jean Claude - Master of St. Louis - has brought one or more possible men to feed Anita's Ardeur and to become part of the St. Louis area. Micah and Nathaniel insist on stopping for several pregnancy tests as they drive to the Circus for the meet and greet. Asher is having problems at the Circus and Jean Claude had to leave to help him, so Anita has to do the meet and greet on his behalf. Things go terribly wrong. When Jean Claude and Anita strip down and have their way with one of the Masters they get an unbelievable power upgrade. Anita holds several animals within her but has never gone furry. Tonight her body is trying very hard to shift and if it succeeds and she is pregnant, she will lose the baby. She gives her leopard to Nathaniel and he goes furry. She calls for a lion and a blue haired werelion visiting takes her lion. A wolf takes her wolf. Now they worry that one of each animal will have to always be near Anita if this ever happens again after the Ardeur. Is it safe for Anita to go to the ballet? Will a Master call forth the Ardeur and her animals again? It is decided that she can go, but they make sure she has food for the Ardeur as well as one of each animal for emergencies. Who knew the dance master would be the true danger as he brings Mommie Dearest - the original vampire and her saber toothed tiger - forth who then tries to take over Anita with the Ardeur. A group of men leave with her to the backseat of a limo for emergency sex so she can get her control back. Another new wrinkle for Anita to have to deal with, including having sex with men she normally wouldn't have. ...more
