If you have ever read anything by Jennifer Weiner, you know that writing comes easily to her. Her tone is always so conversational, she's phenomenal. Good in Bed is no In Her Shoes, but it's an amazing story about Cannie, the overweight, sex-loving writer. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn't read it, but if you love Jennifer Weiner this is a must read---and so is Certain Girls, the follow up to Good in Bed.

this was the only book i read during the last month of finishing up my dissertation. it made me laugh; it made me cry. weiner's writing is real and the main character was one with whom i can identify. i can't remember much about the novel, only that it felt like a good friend during the time i needed one.

I love the book. "Good in bed" is about a plus size female who find out that her boyfriend "that she taking a break from" wrote an article about her. Cannie goes those a wild ride of up and down with careers, new friends, and family life following the first on many article.

I admit it, I have a certain fondness for what is commonly termed "chick lit." But to my way of thinking, a good story is a good story. And this is a good story. It grabs your attention right away, and makes you keep turning the pages until you reach the end. I'm surprised this one hasn't become a movie yet. It's better than either "In Her Shoes" (also by this author) or "Bridget Jones" (not by this author). Anyway, I recommend this to anyone, not just the chicks...

Loved this books!!! Even had to copy some pages out of the library book to keep for personal referral, all before I broke down and bought a series of her works at one time..Can't recommend enough, especially if you happen to be a plus-sized woman like the character in the book (and myself). You ride along for her rollercoaster of a life! And the payoffs at the end (of the book, not her life, LOL) Almost wish for a sequel.
