Peter Nimble, a boy who was abandoned as an infant, is the greatest thief in the world. Despite the fact that he is blind, he can pick locks and sniff out loot better than any other thief. He finally stumbles into an adventure that sends him to a lost land to save a bunch of people from some bad things that are happening.

Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes is a unique and action packed middle grade adventure. Peter was orphaned as a baby and raised to by a cruel guardian who has trained him to be a master thief. After stealing a box containing three boys of eyes he is transported to a remote location and tasked with a seemingly impossible quest. I enjoyed this read and thought it was witty and endearing. I think a lot of readers might take this book a little too seriously. It's a fantastical adventure tale and full of all sorts of unbelievable (and downright gruesome) details. It reminded me of Thurber's The 13 Clocks for some reason, and that is definitely not a bad thing.
