I was definitely not expecting this level of stress in this next novel! The first part of the Selection seems like a walk in the garden compared to this one! Mostly because now that the Selection candidates have been narrowed down to only five girls, the love triangle domineers all of America's time, rebel attacks are becoming frequent, and there is a growing sense of corruption that demands to be felt.

I could hardly wait for this book! :) So excited to read it!!
It's sort of like The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor. The writing is amazing, just like The Selection, but I can see why people got annoyed with America in this book. I understand the decision she is faced with is difficult... It decides the rest of her life! But, I feel like she didn't always give Maxon a fair chance to explain himself. Granted, she is young, and when you're young you can act rashly/more emotionally than you should - ...more

I actually like this book much better than the Selection. At least some major secrets are revealed. But she needs to make a choice too much going back and forth between the two guys.
I definitely didn't like this one as much as the first book. America's indecision got on my nerves a bit. She keeps making the same mistakes over and over again.
I also can't help thinking "Is this the worst guarded palace or what?"
I am interested in seeing the conclusion. Can't wait to read the last one! ...more
