This is just like it's first, Divergent, in the way that Veronica Roth beautifully mixes action and romance, and confusion!!! Can't forget that confusion and darkness/puppeteering is a major role of the entire Divergent trilogy!

With more deaths and betrayals that mar the story, Insurgent becomes so much more BEAUTIFUL to me.

I am just JUMPING IN MY SEAT waiting for the next and final installment. Go FourTris!!!

Shelves: overhyped-ya, ya, overhyped

I borrowed this from the library as a two-week download, and that deadline is probably the only reason I kept reading. If I owned it, I would have put it aside to try again later.

The book is a direct sequel to Divergent. There is no recap of what happened in the first book. I didn't remember most of the character names, so the first chapters were very confusing. The main character, Tris, has regrets about some of the things that she did in the first book, but since I didn't remember who people w ...more

WOW! Insurgent was amazing! I enjoyed Divergent as well but this second installment in the series had much more suspense and intrigue than the first volume. I was pleased to see character growth for both Tris' and Tobias' characters. Tris wasn't a favorite of mine but I feel I have come to like her more in this storyline. The ending of Divergent was one of the best cliff hangers EVER! Can't wait to see what the final volume delivers. ...more
