Agatha Raisin, a sucesful middle age detective agency owner is hired by a wealthy widow who is concerned at least one of her family members is trying to kill her. After a family get together, Agatha thinks the situation is not as bad as the woman believes, until she is found dead. As Agatha investigates she learns about the dead woman's past, how she became wealthy, the tepid relationship she has with her children, and finally who and how she was killed. All the while she is pining for her ex- finance James Lacy and wishing for a romanatic white Christmas. Good Read.
