The author is male. I don't care for the way he portrays any of the females in this book. This is the first in a series, but he doesn't give any depth to any of his characters. WHY would anyone establish a coffee shop/bookstore in a town so small that there is only ONE place to eat? Doesn't seem like there would be enough of a demand.
