This is just not my book. I know it is much loved by many, but whoa. Too much melodrama and WAY too much "my skin exploded in flowers" for me.

I listened to this book in the car, and even my 14-year-old son remarked, "Wow, soap opera much?" when he listened to one of the last chapters on the way home from school with me. I loved this book! Just like I loved Nelson's other work, The Sky is Everywhere.

I have to admit though, it took me a bit longer to get into this one than what I remember from The Sky is Everywhere. Noah (and Jude) have some really weird things they say so it took me a while to get used to that. But once I got into it, I didnt want to stop reading. Nelson's characters are so real. I was definitely more interested in Noah's chapters. I don't always care for YA novels but I enjoyed this one. Enjoyed it but I am not raving about it. After reading the reviews I expected to love it as much as The Fault in Our Stars but that is not the case. ...more
