Emma is the first book by Jane Austen that I have read completely, or rather listened to completely. For the most part, I wanted to strangle Emma, smack her and throttle her to get her to see sense! There's no other way to put it but to say that she is a rich, selfish and overconfident girl, but that is not to say that she is also brilliant and witty as Jane Austen made her to be. This book caused an extreme emotional reaction from me. I mostly felt violent rage. I wanted to go into the book, knock some heads together and move on with my life. Unfortunately, that was not an option (but I STILL wish it was) so I just dragged my feet on finishing this.
