"I seem to have been doomed to blindness."

Emma is the first book by Jane Austen that I have read completely, or rather listened to completely. For the most part, I wanted to strangle Emma, smack her and throttle her to get her to see sense! There's no other way to put it but to say that she is a rich, selfish and overconfident girl, but that is not to say that she is also brilliant and witty as Jane Austen made her to be. Which makes her a very realistic character with strengths and flaws alike.

This book caused an extreme emotional reaction from me. I mostly felt violent rage. I wanted to go into the book, knock some heads together and move on with my life. Unfortunately, that was not an option (but I STILL wish it was) so I just dragged my feet on finishing this.

Clearly this is a cautionary tale about enuring that one participates in self-reflection. "Oh, how did I not realize that I was in love with this man?" Seriously, though Emma, HOW DID YOU NOT REALIZE THAT? I got it within a f
